skiing misadventure broken ankle

I was skiing on lousy (snow gun blown) snow at Mt Snow, VT when I got my ski caught in a rut (like cement) & heard a loud SNAP & fell with excruciating pain. Fortunately, the base clinic Doc gave me Dilaudid, which enabled boot removal & survival until could reach orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Mark Klion, who said surgery was the only option for my Bimallelolar Ankle Fracture. Has anyone else had this?? WOW, the pain is terrible. Had ORIF Ankle at Mount Sinai Hospital, where the surgery went well; but they tried their best to ruin me (ignore, not take care of me - is it the nurses??) postop, where I had allergic reaction & bad pain management. Melinda Mingus, MD, my friend, colleague and Spiral Touch's Acupunturist, broke her ankle a couple of weeks ago and created a blog to share her postoperative ordeal with everyone who wants a reminder in how important is is to be your own advocate in the medical community. Please follow the link below to her own Blog and leave comments and questions. She is doing well but anxious to be healed and back to treating patients!
